PLEURX CATHETER INSERTION AND MANAGEMENT

A PleurX catheter is a thin, flexible tube that’s placed in your chest to drain fluid from your pleural space.  If too much fluid accumulates there, it makes it hard for your lungs to expand all the way and can make you feel short of breath.  By

placing a PleurX catheter, we can drain pleural fluid on a regular basis, making it easier for you to breathe.
